Ingredients
2 tlbs butter
1 small onion
1/4 tsb dried/reg mustard
1 tlbs flour
2 c elbows
2 c milk
8-10 (1/2 lb) oz block cheddar cheese
3/4 tsp salt
spec of pepper
3/4 c breadcrumbs
4 tsps melted butter
Preparation
boil pasta, grate cheese. preheat to 400. mince onion, cook with 2 tlbs butter. stir in flour, mustard, salt, and pepper. slowly stir in milk. cook until smooth and hot, stiring often. mix about 3/4 of cheeses into sauce, stir until cheese is melted. drain pasta and put into dish. pour sauce over pasta and toss to coat evenly. top with remaining cheese. toss bread crumbs with reminging melted butter and sprinkle over cheese on top of pasta. bake uncovered for 20 mins.
