Ingredients
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup flour
4 cups milk
6 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup Velveeta
Salt and pepper
1 lb cooked macaroni
Bread crumbs (optional)
Sliced tomatoes (optional)
Preparation
- Melt butter in large saucepan. Add flour and stir to make roux.
- Slowly add 4 cups of milk and heat until almost boiling.
- Add cheese and stir until melted. Salt and pepper to taste.
- Pour over cooked macaroni. If desired, sprinkle top with bread crumbs and top with sliced tomatoes.
- Bake uncovered in 350 oven 30-45 minutes, until bubbling and lightly browned on top.
