Ingredients
3 c flour
1 c vegetable oil
1 c sugar
3 eggs
1 t. baking powder
1 t. almond extract
1 t. vanilla
1 t. cinnamon
pinch salt
1/2 c chopped nuts (I prefer pecans)
extra cinnamon sugar to sprinkle on top
Preparation
- Beat eggs
- Add sugar slowly
- Add oil slowly
- Add extracts, flour,baking powder, and salt a little at a time until mixed complrtely
- Stir in nuts (If you love pecans, as I do you can add a little extra but it is good as is)
- Spread mixture on a greased 11x15 jelly roll pan
- At this time I always sprinkle exra cinnamon and sugar over the top like my grandmother did. She didn’t put this step in her recipe.
- Bake 30 min at 350 degrees 9.Remove from oven and cut into squares, diamonds, etc. Whatever you like. My grandmother cut hers in 1 inch by 3 inch rectangles. 10.Return to oven for about 10 minutes with the oven turned off.
