Ingredients
3 cups flour
1 1/2 cup sugar
3-4 eggs (fewer if large)
1 1/2 cup (3 sticks) butter
1 cup milk
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla
1 tbsp oil
FOR CHOCOLATE BATTER, add:
3 heaping tbsp cocoa
3 tbsp milk
3/4 cup sugar
Preparation
Preheat oven to approx. 350 F. Grease and flour your bundt pan. Cream butter and sugar together, add eggs and vanilla, then dry ingredients, alternating with milk. When the batter is well mixed, add the tbsp oil (it keeps the cake moist.) Pour half the batter into the form. Add the additional sugar, milk and cocoa to the remaining batter and mix well. Pour this into the form, making occasional digs with your spatula for the marble effect. Bake for about 1 hour, until you can stick in a skewer and it comes out clean.
