Ingredients

10 med Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced

7 Tbs fresh lemon juice

2 c firmly packed light brown sugar

2 c quick cooking oats

1 1/2 c all purpose flour

2 Tbs cinnamon

1 1/2 c well-chilled butter, cut into small pieces

Preparation

Preheat oven to 375 F. Butter 2x10x15 inch baking dish. Toss apples w/ lemon juice in lrg bowl. Add 1 c brown sugar and toss to coat. Arrange apple mixture in even layer in prepared baking dish.

Mix remaining 1 c brown sugar, oats, flour and cinnamon in lg bowl. Cut in butter until mixture resembles course meal. Sprinkle mixture evenly over apples. Bake until apples are tender and topping is golden brown, about 1 hour.

Let crisp stand at least 5 minutes, cut into squares. Serve warm w/ ice cream.
