Ingredients

1 tablespoon butter

1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

½ pound green beans, trimmed

½ pound baby gold potatoes

Salt and freshly ground black pepper

2 cloves garlic, chopped

Water

Preparation

Heat butter and oil over high heat. Add green beans and sear for 2 minutes. Add potatoes and sear for 2 minutes longer. Season with salt and pepper. Add garlic and cook, stirring for 1 minute. Add water up to 3/4 way. Bring to a boil. Lower heat and simmer for 20-30 minutes, depending on how soft you want the beans. Serves 4.
