Beat three egg whites and 1/4 tsp cream of tartar until foamy Beat in sugar 1 tabsp at a time (1/4 Cup) continue beating until stiff and glossy ( Do not underbeat) Beat in 1/4 tsp vanilla Spread meringue over entire pie so it touches crust Bake about 10 minutes or until a delicate brown
