lb boneless beef round steak, trimmed of fat, cut into 6 serving pieces

cup chopped fresh cilantro

cup frozen whole kernel corn, thawed

medium stalks celery, thinly sliced (1 1/2 cups)

large onion, sliced

cup beef broth

jar (20 oz) chunky-style salsa

can (15 oz) black beans, drained, rinsed

cup shredded pepper Jack cheese (4 oz)

Preparation

In 3 1/2- to 6-quart slow cooker, place beef. In medium bowl, mix remaining ingredients except cheese. Pour over beef.

Cover; cook on Low heat setting 8 to 9 hours. Sprinkle individual servings with cheese.
