Ingredients

4 oz fine milk chocolate

1 3/4 c flour

1/4 c dutch cocoa

1 t baking powder

3/4 t baking soda

1/2 t salt

2 c sugar

1/2 c unsalted butter, room temperature

2 t vanilla extract

2 large eggs

1/2 c heavy cream

1 c milk

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350F. Butter 2 9-inch springform cake pans. Line bottoms with parchment paper;butter parchment. Stir milk chocolate in double boiler until melted, set aside to cool.

Sift flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt in medium bowl.

Beat sugar and butter in large bowl until well blended. Add eggs 1 at a time. Mix in dry ingredients. Mix in melted chocolate.

Divide batter and bake about 35 minutes. Cool before icing.
