MINI CALZONES

30 square wonton wrappers

Pepperoni slices

1/3 c pizza sauce (use the squeeze bottle)

1 c of mozzarella cheese (finely shredded)

Small bowl of water

Vegetable oil

Preparation

Lay the wonton wrapper on a dry work surface. In the center of each wrapper, place a slice of pepperoni. Squeeze the pizza sauce onto the pepperoni to about the size of a nickel. Place a small amount of cheese on top of the pizza sauce. Dip you fingers in water and moisten all 4 edges of the wonton, then fold it in half, pressing the edges to seal it. Heat 1 teaspoon of oil in a large skillet over medium heat and cook the pockets until brown, about 2 minutes on each side, adding more if needed. Remove the wontons from the pan and place them on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
