Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ground ginger
.75 tsp. ground cinnamon
.5 tsp. salt
.5 tsp. ground cloves
.75 cup sugar
.5 cup butter, softened
.25 cup full-flavored molasses
1 egg, slightly beaten
.5 tsp. freshly grated orange peel
.5 cup chopped sweetened dried cranberries
Turbinado (raw) sugar
Preparation
- Heat oven to 350 degrees. Combine flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, salt and cloves in medium bowl; set aside.
- Combine sugar and butter in large bowl; beat at medium speed until well mixed.
- Add molasses, egg and orange peel; continue beating until well mixed. Reduce speed to low, gradually add flour mixture to butter mixture, beating well after each addition. Stir in dried, sweetened cranberries.
- Place turbinado sugar into small bowl. Shape dough into 1.25 inch balls; dip tops into sugar.
- Place 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 10 to 13 minutes or until set.
