Ingredients
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 butter or margarine
1/4 cup shortening
1/4 cup molasses
1 egg
2 cups flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp clove
1/4 tsp salt
Preparation
Mix together all the wet ingredients: sugar, butter, shortening, molasses and egg.
Stir in: flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, clove and salt.
Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour.
Roll dough into 1" balls and roll in white sugar.
Bake at 375F for 10-11 minutes!
