Ingredients

1 1/4 cups flour

1/2 cup shortening

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/4 cup ice water

1/2 cup non-dairy powdered creamer

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup sugar

1/3 cup flour

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

1/4 cup butter

6 cups sliced apples, 1/2" thick

2 tablespoons lemon juice

Preparation

Preheat oven to 450. Place 1 1/4 cups flour in large bowl. Cut in shortening until crumbly. Add cheese and combine. Sprinkle ice water over mixture gradually. Shape dough into a ball, then roll into a 15" circle on a floured surface. Place on a baking sheet and turn up the edges. Combine the powdered creamer, both sugars, 1/3 cup flour, cinnamon and nutmeg. Sprinkle half of this mixture over the dough. Cut the butter into the remaining half of this mixture until crumbly. Arrange the apple slices, overlapping them in a circle on the crust. Sprinkle with lemon juice, then remaining crumb mixture. Bake for 30 minutes or until apples are tender.
