Ingredients

1 White onion, chopped

2 Tablespoons tamari or soy sauce

1 Cup red wine

3/4 Cup ketchup

1/2 Envelope onion soup mix

4 Lbs beef brisket

Preparation

Combine first five ingredients in a medium bowl and mix well. Place brisket in a baking dish and pour mixture over the brisket. Cover the baking dish with parchment/wax paper and then aluminum foil. Bake in preheated oven at 325 degrees for 3 hours. Cool the brisket to room temperature and then refrigerate overnight.

Remove the beef from the sauce, and on a cutting board slice the brisket against the grain. Place the sliced brisket back into the sauce, and reheat covered at 325 degrees for 1 hour.
