Ingredients

1/2 cup margarine

2 cups granulated sugar

2 eggs

1/2 cup cocoa

1 cup sour milk

2 1/2 cups all purpose flour

2 tsp baking soda

1 tsp vanilla

1 cup hot water or hot coffee

Preparation

Cream margarine,sugar and eggs until light and fluffy. Add cocoa and blend well. Add sour milk and blend well. (To make sour milk, put 2 T vinegar in cup, and fill to 1 cup line with milk. Let stand 5 minutes.)

Add flour, soda and vanilla. Blend well. Pour in hot water or coffee and blend. Bake in 9 x 13 inch pan 25 to 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Note: adding coffee gives the cake a rich flavor and wonderful aroma.
