Ingredients
1 T. yeast (or 1 pkg.)
1/4 c. warm water
1 T. butter
1 c. cottage cheese
2 t. dill seed
1 t. salt
1/4 t. soda
1/2 T. minced onion (can used dried)
2 T. sugar
2 1/4 to 2 1/2 c. flour. (Wheat or white)
Preparation
Dissolve yeast in water and let stand 10 minutes. In a sauce pan combine butter, cottage cheese, dill seed, salt, soda, onion and sugar.
Combine yeast mixture and cottage cheese mixture into a mixing bowl. Add flour and combine until well mixed. Dough should hold together well but still be sticky.
Place dough in a greased bowl and let rise in a warm place until double. Punch down. Place dough into a 9x5 well-greased bread pan. Let rise until dough reaches the top of the bread pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. After baking brush top of loaf with butter.
