Ingredients
3 cups old fashioned oats
2 tablespoons ground flax seed (flax meal)
1 cup untoasted wheat germ
1 cup unsweetened coconut chips
1 tablespoon cinnamon
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/4 cup instant non-fat dry milk
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup almonds
3/4 cup honey
1/4 cup vegetable oil (Canola oil preferred)
1 tablespoon vanilla
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup craisins
1/2 cup dried blueberries
1/2 cup chopped tart cherries (optional)
Preparation
Heat oven to 300 degrees.
Mix all the dry ingredients together in a large bowl (except for the dried fruit).
Combine honey, oil and vanilla and heat in microwave for 1 minute. Drizzle the liquid mixture over the dry ingredients, stirring to coat evenly.
Spread evenly in two 10x12 inch bar pans. Place in oven for 30 to 40 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes. Add dried fruit for the last 10 minutes.
Cool completely. Store in an air-tight container.
