Ingredients
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 small onion
4 garlic cloves, crushed
1 package sweet Italian sausage, skinned and crumbled
1 1/4 cups of heavy cream
1 lb. dried pasta
Fresh basil
Salt, Pepper
Parmesan cheese
Preparation
Heat oil in a skillet. Add onion and garlic and cook, stirring over medium high heat, until golden, about 5 mins.
Add sausage. Stir frequently to break up meat, until it loses its pink color, about 10 mins.
Meanwhile cook pasta in a large pot of boing, salted water, until firm to bite. Drain, reserving 1/2 cup pasta water.
Stir in cream and simmer until thickened. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Add pasta with basil to the sauce. Toss to coat, adding reserved water as needed. Serve immediately with parmesan.
