Ingredients

2 cups granulated sugar

2 cups sifted all-purpose flour

1 cup butter-flavored Crisco

7 whole large eggs

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1 teaspoon pure lemon extract

Preparation

Mom’s Plain Pound Cake

Mix sugar and flour in a mixing bowl. Make a hole in the mixture and add 7 eggs and Crisco. Blend with mixer on low for 12 minutes. Add vanilla. Add lemon. Grease 10" tube pan (do not use Bundt tube pan) with butter-flavored Crisco. Lightly dust tube pan with flour. Spoon cake in pan. Bake 1 hour and 10 minutes on 325 degrees F.
