Ingredients
2 Pkgs dry yeast
1 cup water (lukewarm)
1 tsp sugar
2 cups milk
2/3 cup shortening
3/4 cup sugar (Why sugar is on here twice? No idea.)
4 tsp salt
2 eggs
7-8 cups flour
Preparation
Soften dry yeast in warm water and add 1 tsp sugar to yeast mixture. (Oh, that’s why.) Add milk (luke warm), shortening, 3/4 cup sugar and salt. Add eggs and beat well. Add flour to make a soft dough.
Let stand 10 min; knead on lightly floured surface till smooth and elastic. Place in greased bowl turning once to grease surface and cover. Store in fridge.
Shape rolls about 2 hrs before serving. Let rise until double size.
Bake 400 for 15-20 min. Punch down unused dough and refrigerate.
