Ingredients
Premade pizza dough
Grated part-skim mozzarella cheese. (Enough to cover dough [8 oz. bag])
Ham cold-cuts (Enough to cover dough. [1/2 lb.]).
12 inch pepperoni (You won’t use all of it)
Marinara sauce (Enough to cover dough. OPTIONIAL)
Preparation
- If dough is frozen, let thaw in fridge overnight.
- Preheat oven or toaster oven to 375 degrees.
- Sanitize and flour a surface about 2.5x2.5 feet.
- Place dough on floured surface and work flour into dough just until it’s not sticky anymore.
- Roll dough out until 1/4-1/2 inch thick.
- If wished cover surface with marinara sauce then cover surface with desired amount of cheese. Without marinara, skip right to the cheese. (Recommendation: 8 oz. bag of cheese. Use all of it).
- Chop or rip ham into desired size and use desired amount on top of the cheese. (Recommendation: use all of the ham).
- Cut off about a 3-4 inch piece of the pepperoni log. Cut off the plastic wrapper(s) and discard. Chop pepperoni into small bite-size pieces and scatter over the ham.
- Carefully, flip the two longer sides of the dough one on top of other. If desired, use a pastry brush and water and paint water onto the dough to act like a glue. Then flip the two ends up and over and seal with water.
- Carefully place calzone on aluminum foil or a thin aluminum baking sheet and place in oven or toaster oven.
- Cook for 10 minutes then check by looking to see if the dough is a light brown. If not, continue cooking and check every 5-10 minutes.
- Enjoy, but don’t burn your tongue!
