Ingredients

3 tbs butter or olive oil

1 lg. onion

2 cloves garlic

1 lb. ground beef

3 cups water

1 1/2 cups canned tomatoes

1 green pepper minced

1/2 teas. celery seed

1/4 cayenne pepper

1 teas. cumin seed

1 small bay leaf

2 tbs chili powder

1/8 teas basil

1 1/2 teas salt

kidney beans

double recipe, freeze

Preparation

Heat butter or oil ( I use half and half) add onions and garlic saute until golden. Add beef and brown. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, simmer for 2-3 hours half covered until it thickens. Add beans before serving.
